Interview Style:

Guest Preparation Info & Technology Tips

All interviews are done through an online platform called Riverside FMand sometimes we may use Google Meet. We encourage you to make sure that your device has the latest updates of Google Chrome, to ensure maximum efficiency.

To ensure a smooth and professional interview experience, please follow these guidelines:

1. Stable Internet Connection: Verify that your internet connection is reliable and strong to avoid disruptions during the interview.

2. Device Recommendation: You can use a laptop or desktop computer for the interview. When recording from Riverside FM, typically previous guests have found recording on their mobile devices to be much easier and convenient.

3. Sound Check: Test your audio setup beforehand to ensure clear sound quality. For optimal results, use an external microphone, such as a desktop or lapel microphone. When using a hand held microphone please ensure it has a stand so that you are not holding it in your hands.

4. Quiet Environment: Choose a quiet location for your interview to minimise background noise and distractions.

5. Proper Lighting: Ensure your space is well-lit, preferably with natural light or a soft, front-facing light source, to present yourself clearly.

6. Neat Background: Select a clean and uncluttered background, free from any distracting or obstructive elements.

7. Camera Setup: Position your camera at eye level in landscape orientation, with a slight gap (about 2-3 inches) between the top of your head and the top of the screen for a balanced and professional frame. If filming from a mobile phone, please ensure you have a stand or a docking station.

8. Filming Format:

You must be able to record in 1080p. We cannot accept anything lower such as 720p.
